our process

At Byblio Press, we work to ensure every one of our authors enjoys a seamless, transparent, and uplifting publishing experience. We accept unsolicited proposals to publish books year-round. Manuscripts may be submitted by individuals, agents, groups, and organizations. While each book is unique in its publishing needs, we aim to publish all books we accept in 3-6 months (timelines will vary based on the length of the book, the time it takes to provide optional services, and how much time clients take to respond to our inquiries and drafts).

Here is an overview of our process to publish your work and keep you informed every step of the way.

2.  Acceptance

Our editors and client services teams review the proposal and may provide the author with a sample of edits we will make. We discuss any revision before moving forward.

3.  Contracting & Payments

We work with each author to ensure the publishing contracts, financials, and publishing steps are clear, signed, and processed efficiently.

4.  Drafting

Our editors and production team work with the author to draft any graphics and to perfect all content for the final product.

5.  Production

After drafting, the book is sent to production to finalize its layout. The author reviews how the book looks and lets us know if anything needs to be changed.

6.  Distribution

Once the book is produced, the author receives a copy and all information about the book. Our world-wide outlets receive information about the book. You are now published!

Complete the Book Proposal Form that outlines all the publishing details required of your work. Download the form ("enable editing" if necessary) to complete the form. Save the file with a new name and attach the completed form to your email.

We review all the proposal material to determine if the book meets our publishing criteria. We respond to the contact person listed in the proposal within 15 days of receiving all the required documents and let them know our decision about publishing the book.

When we decide to publish a book, we discuss the project and services that may align with the client’s publishing goals. At that point, we jointly agree on the terms of a contract, which includes the services to be provided and the estimated timelines. The author then submits a complete manuscript for our further review and possible editing, and we send the contract to the client.

The author is responsible for reviewing the edited versions of the manuscript and the proofs of the book and letting us know if any changes are to be made to the content or design. If any errors are found, such as when we convert the manuscript into the proof, the author submits a corrections/proof form so the book design team can make the changes.
